The grid
The grid in the rain-on-grid (RoG) approach refers to the 2D mesh you create using the 2D Flow Area tool in HEC-RAS.
his mesh divides the watershed into cells where runoff is calculated, with each cell assigned hydrological properties like roughness (Manning’s n) and runoff coefficients. The mesh defines the spatial resolution and domain for the runoff simulation.
Boundary conditions for the outflow
The precipitation
Boundary condition: Precipitation
In the Unsteady Flow Data window:
Boundary Conditions tab> Add Boundary Condition Location section > Add SA/2D Flow Area ... > Select the perimeter of the 2D Flow Area.
Now you added a new row in the boundary condition table below.
Click on the empty field for Boundary Condition next to the Perimeter that you selected > Boundary Condition Type section > Precipitation
